What has your HOA Board done lately?

First, the newly appointed board of directors would like to thank the many homeowners for attending (in person or by proxy) the Annual Homeowners Meeting for the Creekside Homeowners Association. It was great to see some of the faces from the original homeowners association as well as the many new faces that have joined the association over the years. It is because of concerned and involved homeowners such as yourselves, that make Creekside one of the nicest communities to live in Paulding County. The association has come a long way since meeting in the jobsite trailer in 1996 at the entrance of Westchester Club Drive with only about 20 members to the 331 members we have now.

The focus of the new board of directors will be Communication. We will be developing several means to improve upon the communication between the homeowners and the board and committees. This coming year we will be implementing an “Open House” meeting format in which the homeowner can openly ask questions and be allowed to discuss any topic of concern for the association. We feel this “Open House” format, since it will be more relaxed, will allow more opportunities for you the homeowner to address issues of concern. It will also give an opportunity to give suggestions for improvement or develop a long term plan for the community. It is very important that all homeowners are heard and given a chance to have their issues addressed and this board of directors intends to develop ways to ensure that this happens.

We are very excited about the opportunities here at Creekside for 2009 and have assembled a great group of committee Chairpersons to head the new committees. The success of Creekside depends on involved homeowners, so with that said, we need your help! Please sign up to help on one of our committees, the more people we have involved the better. No matter how much time you can commit, ANY time is greatly appreciated and WILL make a difference to the success of our committees and our community.

Thanks Again,

The Board of Directors

Words from the President:

Your new board is working diligently to build a more involved community.  In order to accomplish this we need your help!  We want all homeowners to feel as though they are a part of the community and not simply a number in which dues are collected.  We want all homeowners to be able to give input and suggestions and be respected as they deserve to be.  The board is fully committed to this and we look forward to meeting and talking to each of you.  If you have an issue or suggestion please feel free to contact any of your board members or committee members.  If you would like a more formal time to address an issue then email the board to get your item listed on the agenda for an upcoming meeting, or schedule a meeting directly with the board members.  If the issue is in regards to a particular committee then you can email the committee directly to see if you can attend one of their meetings discuss.

One of the most important aspects of bringing up issues is helping to determine how to address them.  So with that said please give solutions as well, this helps ensure that the homeowners vision of the community is one in the same with the board and committees.  We have several committees that need additional help so PLEASE get involved, the more people the better.  Would you like to help out with our great events for the homeowners?  Then contact Tricia Altman with our Hospitality Committee.  Would you like to help form one of our new team activities like a community swim team, ALTA team, or Softball team?  Then contact me to determine how we can get this going.  What we need is your involvement to make Creekside truly a community that makes all of us proud to be a part of.  Even if you only have a couple of hours a week to commit all involvement will be appreciated and is welcomed.  Contact the board or one of our committees and get involved today!

Thanks,

Robert Elam

President Creekside Homeowners Association
