If you witness ANY suspicious activity or individuals, (driving slowly, up & down the street, DAY or NIGHT, driving slowly with headlights off at night, or parked for a long time with someone sitting inside) ANYTIME, especially at night, please call the Paulding County Sheriff's Office at: (770) 445-2117 or call 911. You may remain anonymous & indicate this on the phone.
Please DO NOT leave any valuables inside your vehicles that are visible from the outside of your vehicles (i.e. change, cell phones, laptops, gameboys, PDA's, bags of merchandise, etc...).
Lock all doors & windows including garage doors at night & when you are away from your home. If leaving your home for a few days or longer, consider having your MAIL STOPPED (having someone get your mail for you is an indicator that you are not home), maybe have your neighbor pick up those "free" Paulding County newspapers that generally come on Thursdays.
Also, if you experience any daytime solicitors please contact the Sheriff's Office noting a brief description of the individual(s) such as clothing colors, male/female, race, etc... This is a common method of "scoping out" homes for criminals to determine who's home are vacant during the daytime. Most home burglaries occur during the daytime as the majority of people work during the day. Think about it-if you were doing door-to-door sales, wouldn't you do it when people should be home?
